It’s a tradition! Each year, our Home Management instructors take students through weeks of preparation for our annual Thanksgiving feast. This year the feast was held on November 21, and all four of the classes roasted a turkey for the big meal.
But it’s also become a tradition for Delfina, our longest-tenured Home Management instructor, to lead the class in a little dance of anticipatory joy – the Turkey Dance!

Saturday, November 10 was a full day – full of learning and, by about 1:30, we were all just full. Twenty-four came for our FAST (Fun Activities and Skills Training) Thanksgiving meal. A mix of blind youth, parents, teachers, staff and volunteers (and one little brother) made an early Thanksgiving meal, substituting chickens for a turkey.
There was plenty on Thursday, November 16 – plenty to eat and to be thankful for at our 100-percent student-prepared Thanksgiving Feast!
