It may be the flowering of a great new partnership!

We were excited to welcome Circuit Media leadership for a recent visit at the center. Rebecca, Lisa, Karen and Ellie sat down with Executive Director Julie Deden and members of the management team to discuss a possible partnership, including Circuit Media staff serving as volunteers and possible internships for students. (Rebecca, Karen and Ellie are shown in the photo above.)

Circuit Media, a 20-year-old company headquartered in Denver, is a digital communications and design agency working in both the private and government sectors. Since its inception, it has also fostered socially-conscious service to the community. Indeed, Circuit Media has incorporated accessible digital design as a matter of conscience and compliance into its business products.

These are the kind of people we love to be associated with!

After our chat about our organizations and exchanging ideas about how we might work together, we took Rebecca, Karen and Ellie on a tour of the center (Lisa had to leave early). Rebecca, CEO and founder of Circuit Media, is familiar with the building and the center. She lives in Littleton and, when we stopped in the gym, recalled coaching her son’s Y basketball teams back in the day, before we bought the building from the YMCA. There was some interest expressed in center staff doing a goal ball clinic for Circuit Media staff.

Indeed, there was also some enthusiasm expressed about Circuit Media volunteers driving for the center as we return to our pre-pandemic challenge recreation activities, such as rock climbing and whitewater rafting.

But employment is always the goal of our Independence Training Program (ITP), so a new possibility of real-world internships for students really excites us, and we couldn’t imagine better people to partner with to create new opportunities for our blind students!
